Subtracting…

Why start by subtracting? Well all of us have stuff in our lives that keeps us from “adding” more to it. Amy Jones has created an acronym to identify stuff that invades her life. I really liked it so to share
Superfluous
Trivial
Unnecessary
Frivolous
Fillers

Amy recounts a time when she came to reckoning with her stuff. It was either her stuff or her life(honestly- read the book)… she of course chose her life and all the stuff that she thought was important- really wasn’t.

We may not ever have that same experience or near to it( and I pray that we don’t), but does it ever seem that you are drowning in your own stuff?

It is good to declutter… How much stuff do we hang on to just to realize that in the great scheme of things it doesn’t matter. I am going through this right now. We have years of magazines that have been in our storage shed. Not that they are in they way, but why do we need them? We don’t… Time to clear out!!!

Amy’s next step is adding. It is GREAT. If you want to learn more about simplifying your life check out her book on Simple Truths.

GOD BLESS

Becoming Number 1

How many seconds do you have to use each day? 86,400… These are yours everyday. You can waste them(lose them) or you can actually use them. That number seems large doesn’t it, but we all wish we had more time. So the question becomes do we need more time or should we learn to use our time more wisely?

Time is the one place everyone- whether they are rich, poor, stay at home or go to work- is on an even playing field. No one gets more or less than another. Time is just a number and numbers can be manipulated through math. No matter how large or small the number maybe. In the book Amy Jones has an eqation called “Time Management Mathematics”
Subtracting(-), Adding(+), Multiplying(x), and Dividing (/) Equals(=) Successful Management of Life and Time
“When you start putting this equation into practice amazingly you will find the answer to how you can do more in less time.” Amy Jones

Tomorrow Subtracting…

Are you to Busy for Simple Change?

I told you I would dive somewhat into Amy Jone’s book Twice as Much in Half the Time.

Chapter 1 is Mind Your Own Busy-ness. “The phone is Ringing…the meeting’s in 10 minutes… that deadline was YESTERDAY..my In-box is FULL. I’VE RUN OUT OF TIME!” Amy Jones

I think we have all felt like this- just so busy like we don’t really know where to start. We need to learn to manage our time better. Therefore we will be able to manage our lives better and be more fulfilled. Accomplish more, less stress… Wow a sense of peace in the New Year. Can it really be done? It can and anyone can do this. Alt it truly involves is learning to do things differently so the outcomes are more effective and therefore more efficient.

So always be on the lookout for new ways to do old things. Case in point. According to the book… get out a sheet of paper and draw a triangle. Pretty simple right. Now draw as many triangles as you can in 20 seconds. You want to be able to draw more? Draw connected W’s across the page then draw a line across the top and bottom. See how many triangles you can draw using this method in 20 seconds. Alot more huh? Are you ready for simple changes in your life?

Lesson #1 is Becoming #1…

GOD BLESS:)
