Saving Money~ Consignment Shopping

As a stay at home mom I am always looking for ways to save money.  One of my favorite ways is consignment stores.  There are many types of consignment stores out there, but I am focusing on clothing and I may add in a little about the furniture and others, but nothing about online, but would love comments about those as I am pretty unfamiliar with them(except craigslist and e-bay if you consider those online consignment which I use craigslist often to sell my clothes because of where I live).

Now off my tangent and back to consignment shops.  When my kids where smaller I had an account with a consignment shop.  I loved this because they took both maternity clothes and babies clothes(and toys, etc) that were in good shape(must be washed and on hangers).  Then I could either get new items for what I had on my account or just money.  As fast as my kids grew I was always in need for items and getting them for free was great.  Now as they are older they still want to be in style and I don’t have a mall close to me, but we do have some consignment shops.  I love consignments shops.  One of the reasons I have looked into it lately is the fact that next year my son will be in middle school.  That may not sound like a big deal, but here they have a dress code of polo’s and khaki’s.  Then when they get into high school there isn’t a dress code any more.  I don’t want to buy all new clothes (that he won’t wear~ he doesn’t even dress like that for church although we try) for school.  So consignment it is:)  My mom does live near a mall and she is able to catch all the stuff on sale for my daughter(at least for now, but I know as she gets older it will get harder with the sizes).

Consignment is great because you can buy things that are still in style and save money(how much you may ask) well compared to a department store clothes tend to be around one-third of the price.  WOW what a savings!!

Consignment isn’t always about clothing either.  There are many stores that do furniture, toys, kitchen appliances, if you can buy it they have it.  Here we have a Habitat for Humanity store where all the proceeds go for habitat, there is also a furniture consignment store(which is really nice and the articles are quality made and many made in the US which is a rare find these days).

Don’t forget about others such as Goodwill, Half Off Books, and things like PAWS(which is like the Habitat for Humanity store only proceeds goes for animals instead).

Let me know where you like to shop.

GOD BLESS

What does Ballet have to do with Business??

I know it is a weird title, but being that it is Christmas time I was thinking back to my childhood… One of the things that I did was Ballet(I was never really good at it~ gymnastics was my thing, but I had to take it for gymnastics).  I remember we did the Nutcracker ballet at this time of year.  Oh, the dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy.

Anyway, getting back to the reason I am writing I started thinking about all the things I learned as a kid and not from school or parents, but the activities I did so I will bring you lessons from other sports later, but today I want to focus on Ballet.  What did I learn from ballet that helps me in life and especially in my business?  Poise, Posture, Polish, and Balance.

Poise~ every person that is in ballet knows that your poise is very important.  You must make every move with as much grace as possible and like you know what you are doing even when you make a mistake.  The same works for everyday life and business.  With my business it is the same~ if I am speaking to someone that has requested information and I make a mistake about not telling them something I think is important go on, they don’t know the difference. Then in the end after all the information no matter if someone says No, or not right now I move on.  They will remember my poise and one day may find that I am the right person to help them.

Posture…

This one goes with poise.  I know that in ballet you must keep a smile on your face and your shoulders back through out the performance.  In a business a smile goes a long way, doesn’t matter if you are on the phone or in person.  I know I want to work with someone happy.  Also if you keep your shoulder’s back it relieves stress and you feel better~ have you ever seen someone that slouches all the time and think they aren’t happy, I know I have.  Also, I am the expert~ the person I am talking to doesn’t know what I do and how it all works.  My posture throughout the conversation of how excited I am to tell them says it all:)

Polish…

Ever move is polished in Ballet.  It looks beautiful.  In business I must polish my moves also.  I may change what I say to people because everyone is different, but I have to make sure that it is polished and comes out seamless. I don’t want to work with someone that is not polished.  Inexperienced I can deal with, but someone who stumbles over everything and isn’t happy with what they are doing, UHH.

Balance~ to stand on point you must have balance.  Now business is a different balance than ballet, but you get the point.  Now I have to balance my business with my household and kids.  Balance is a must.  I started my business to have the freedom of working from home, but still have some pay with it.  If I wanted a full time job I would have went out and got one leaving my kids with a daycare.  Now I just have to remember that.

Looking forward to telling you what gymnastics taught me:)

GOD BLESS

Toothpaste~ how harmful is it?

Hey all, I wanted to share this from my business partner Sandra… Great Information.  We should all worry about what they don’t tell us.  Glad I get my products from a great wellness company.

GOD BLESS

Brandy
Can more than a dime size of toothpaste harm a child??

A few weeks ago I ran out of my regular toothpaste. I order my personal products online, because it was a weekend I knew I had a few days to wait for it to come in. While waiting I figured I would just share with my 20-year-old son who recently moved back home. On the second day I started to notice that the skin lining my mouth way coming off! That was gross! I thought it must be from something I ate and it was just a one-time thing. It continued to over the weekend and on Monday. The only thing that I changed was the toothpaste so I started to do some research on what was in the Crest 3-D Whiting toothpaste. The first thing on the Box is

WARNINGS- Keep out of reach of children under 6 years of age. If more that used for brushing is accidentally swallowed, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center right away!!!

I thought this was because to the Fluoride in the toothpaste but…You’ll see toothpaste is loaded with dangerous toxins and chemicals such as sodium fluoride, triclosan, FD&C Blue Dye #1 and 2, sodium lauryl sulfate, and hydrated silica. All of these common ingredients have been found to be harmful to humans. (From the Safe Shoppers Bible).

I know many of you are thinking well, a little won’t harm you. Let just take a look at that thought for a minute. I just listed several harmful ingredients in your toothpaste. This is something you use 2-3 times a day. What about mouthwash, shampoo, deodorant, lotions, make-up? That is just before you walk out of the bathroom in the morning. On average a female will use 23 personal care products a day! Don’t even get me started on the rest of your day. Back to the toothpaste

Sodium Fluoride: One of the main ingredients in rat poison and toothpaste

Many people are probably aware that most toothpaste and many mouth rinses contain fluoride because that’s what dentists have recommended for years to prevent cavities. But did you know that most popular toothpastes contain enough fluoride in four ounces to kill a small child within 2 to 4 hours? (From “Fluoride Retained From Mouth Rinses and Dentifrices in Preschool Children.”

In children and youth, minimal ingestion of sodium fluoride causes salivation, nausea, vomiting, epigastric pain, and diarrhea. Large doses of the carcinogen may cause paralysis, muscular weakness and clonic convulsions, followed by respiratory and cardiac failure. (From “Commercial Toothpaste – Natural or Poison?”)

It’s no wonder that fluoride can cause death in humans! In addition to being one of the main ingredients in toothpaste as well as rat and cockroach poisons, sodium fluoride is also a key component in anesthetic, hypnotic, and psychiatric drugs and SARIN NERVE GAS! (From “Neurotoxicity of Sodium Fluoride in Rats” & “Dental Conditions in Workers Chronically Exposed to Dilute and Anhydrous Hydrofluoric Acid”)

Fluorides have been used throughout history to alter the behavior and mood of human beings. It is a little known fact that fluoride compounds were added to the drinking water of prisoners to keep them quiet and to hamper noncompliance with authority, both in Nazi prison camps during World War II and in the Soviet gulags in Siberia. (From The Cold War and the University)

Surprisingly, fluoride has NEVER been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Additionally, a 1990 study stated that fluoride has been shown to NOT reduce cavities and scientists are now linking fluoride to dental deformity, arthritis, allergic reactions and about 10,000 unnecessary deaths each year from cancer. (From “Fluoride an equivocal carcinogen. National Cancer Institute)

FD&C Blue Dye # 1 & 2: Are you eating crude oil for breakfast?

These dyes are artificial colorings often found in familiar toothpaste brands and a wide variety of other products. Recent studies indicate that FD & C Blue Dyes 1 & 2 can trigger a wide number of behavioral, learning, and health problems. FD&C color dyes may also cause potentially severe allergic reactions, asthma attacks, headaches, nausea, fatigue, nervousness, lack of concentration, and cancer. (From “Formation of carcinogenic aromatic amine from an azo dye by human skin bacteria in vitro” & “Skin discoloration with blue food coloring”)

Using FD & C Blue Dyes 1 & 2 is just like ingesting crude oil as it too, is synthesized from petroleum. These dyes were originally made from coal tar oil, which is a black, sticky tar by-product of steel making and petroleum distillation, and is a source of numerous complex chemicals. Through repeated human exposure, some of these isolated coal tar components were classified as active carcinogens, ultimately leading to government regulations and restrictions.

Nowadays, coal tar dyes are synthetically engineered rather than extracted from actual coal tar, thereby greatly reducing the possibility of being contaminated with carcinogenic residuals from the coal itself. However, the dyes still contain carcinogenic properties. Over several decades of use, some of these synthetic dyes have come under greater scientific and government scrutiny due to their carcinogenic and mutagenic activity. Because of this, they are still referred to in the industry as “coal tar dyes,” according to the FDA. (From U.S. Food & Drug Administration. “Color Additives Fact Sheet.”)

Even if toothpaste is never swallowed, these dyes can be absorbed within seconds through the skin on the lips, or through the mucous membrane in the mouth. According to the Physician’s Desk Reference, the mucosal lining inside of the mouth has an absorption efficiency of over 90 percent. Because of this, these carcinogens get into your blood, your brain, and your cells in no time at all – especially when you consider most people use dental care products 2 to 3 times a day. (From U.S. Food & Drug Administration. “Color Additives Fact Sheet.”)

Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS): Used clinically to irritate skin

Perhaps the most dangerous ingredient in personal-care products is Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS). Because SLS has a foaming property, it is added to toothpastes in order to generate foam and give the impression that the toothpaste is working. However, SLS has been found to be quite corrosive and harmful to skin tissue says a report by the American College of Toxicity.

In the cleaning industry, SLS is used in products such as garage floor cleaners, engine degreasers and car wash soaps. Elsewhere, SLS is used for clinical testing as a primary skin irritant. Laboratories use it to irritate skin on test animals and humans so that they may then test healing agents to see how effective they are on the irritated skin.

The journal of the American College of Toxicology reports that SLS can penetrate and be retained in the eye, brain, heart, and liver with potentially harmful long-term effects. Also found in most shampoos including “no tears” baby shampoos, SLS can keep children’s eyes from developing properly, can cause cataracts in adults, can retard healing, and can impair hair growth.

Triclosan: A pesticide found in many types of toothpaste

Triclosan, a chemical used for its antibacterial properties, is an ingredient found in many detergents and toothpastes. However, the formulation and structure of this ingredient are similar to some of the most toxic chemicals on earth. Because of this fact, triclosan has been scrutinized in regards to human health and safety, according to Tufts University School of Medicine.

While the companies that manufacture products containing triclosan claim that it is safe, the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has registered it as a dangerous pesticide. The EPA gives triclosan high scores both as a human health risk and as an environmental risk.

Triclosan is a chlorophenol, which is a class of chemicals that is suspected of causing cancer in humans. Externally, phenol can cause a variety of skin irritations, but since it can temporarily deactivate sensory nerve endings, contact with it may cause little or no pain. Taken internally, even in small amounts, phenol can lead to cold sweats, circulatory collapse, convulsions, coma, and death.

Additionally, chlorinated hydrocarbon pesticides can be stored in body fat, sometimes accumulating to toxic levels. Long term exposure to repeated use of many pesticide products can damage the liver, kidneys, heart and lungs, suppress the immune system, and cause hormonal disruption, paralysis, sterility and brain hemorrhages. (From . “Recognition and Management of Pesticide Poisonings.” Environmental Protection Agency)

Hydrated Silica: A whitener that damages tooth enamel

Hydrated silica, which is primarily used as an abrasive in toothpaste, is made from a crystallized compound found in quartz, sand, and flint. (From “The Safe Shopper’s Bible”)

Tooth enamel re-mineralizes daily from the supply of ionic calcium and phosphorus in the saliva. Scratching the surface of the tooth with an abrasive such as hydrated silica harms the enamel and prevents re-mineralization, much like using sand to clean glass. Severe wear could eventually occur.

”The public is cautioned against excessive use of products containing ‘dioforms,’ which are abrasive substances that can cause the breakdown of tooth enamel. Products containing the ingredients silica and cellulose, in particular, should be avoided when gum disease, tooth decay, sensitivity and receding gums are present.

While these ingredients can remove tartar and make teeth whiter in appearance, they also may do harm to dental health by altering the acidic balance of the mouth, gums and tongue,” said Dr. Warren Scherer, New York University College of Dentistry, as reported by The Naples Daily News.

There are safe products out there, just do your research. Find a company that truly cares about it customers. There are also many free recipes online for homemade personal care products. Don’t forget how effective your food and vitamins are in preventive care. Here is a great way to prevent periodontal disease.

SUPPLEMENT WITH CoQ10 100MG OR MORE PER DAY
Doctors have documented that people with periodontal disease have significantly low levels of CoQ10 in the tissues of their gums. Researchers at Osaka University Faculty of Dentistry in Japan gave eight patients with moderately or severely inflamed gums 60 mg of CoQ10 a day for eight weeks. The patients received no other therapy. The results, according to clinicians: “CoQ10 was effective in suppressing gingival inflammation.”

In an additional study, Dr. T. Matsumura and Dr. Karl Folkers performed a double blind trial of CoQ10 versus regular periodontal treatments for advanced periodontitis. 24 subjects suffering from severe periodontal disease which had not responded to extensive flossing and brushing were studied. 13 subjects received 50 mg of CoQ10, while 11 received placebos. 9 of the 13 CoQ10 patients made dramatic improvements. Only 3 of the 11 placebo recipients displayed minor improvement. In 4 of the CoQ10 patients, symptoms of periodontitis completely disappeared within 8 weeks. “The therapeutic improvement with CoQ10 was better both by the number of improved patients and the degree of improvement,” reported the doctors.

CoQ10 is a miracle nutrient, and you should be taking it for daily health maintenance, if not for the health of your gums. While, studies show improvement with even small dosages of less than 100mg of CoQ10, a therapeutic dosage of 150mg while you are still showing symptoms of periodontal disease is advised. After your gums have healed, you can reduce the dosage down to around 50-100mg. The most effective CoQ10 is in softgel form. Also, because CoQ10 is a fat soluble nutrient, taking it with a good EFA supplement such as flax oil or virgin coconut oil can improve uptake.

**Make sure you are supplementing with a softgel form of CoQ10

I also wanted to give you some links to help you get started with your research.

Cross check any substances listed in the ingredients with the internet databases.

Personal responsibility!!

I got this and I just had to share the article… This applies not only to Network Marketing, but to any entrepreneur. Enjoy..

The most overlooked money-making skill in network marketing
By Jerry Chen
As I share this information with you, I don’t want you to feel like I’m your strict parent about to give you a lecture on your work ethic.

(Ok… brace yourself… lol)

Not at all.

Actually, I just want you to remember a few key things that you may have already picked up in your entrepreneurial journey that many of us need to revisit.

These are the things I have learned along the way and continue to remind myself to do on a daily basis…

Things I learned from top leaders, mentors (not necessarily ‘gurus’) and those who are actually out there doing stuff…

The words themselves are not that glitzy or glamorous, but they mean a lot to you in terms of how you perceive your own business and the services provided by others.

I’m talking about the SKILL of taking personal responsibility.

And yes, I do mean it as a SKILL that can be learned.

This is such an important skill that can literally make or break your entire business.

Allow me to explain…

No matter where you run your business, on or offline, you will have a much better experience (yes, and financial results) when you maintain an ethic of personal responsibility.

Personal responsibility, for your business and yourself, is going to make a huge difference in the way that you select the mentors you follow, tools you use, and courses of choice as you become a more experienced entrepreneur.

As you build on this ethic, several strategies are involved, such as:

Building up core personality skills that will help you in your business and even other important parts of your life.
Not blaming tools, courses, or gurus for any failures you experience.
Understanding that just as many people make money online as they can offline, and vice versa.
Careful reading of copy writing in sales letters and email offers.

Core personality skills you should have as an entrepreneur.

You need these skills under your belt because they will make many tasks so much easier to complete and will improve your relationships with prospects and business partners.

-Communication with Others:

Be clear, direct, and concise.

You want to be understood as you deliver your messages.

Emails to your contacts should be insightful, informative (as necessary), and not pushy.

Your phone calls should usually be scheduled and follow an agenda.

If you drag on for too long over the phone, you will feel burnt out and so will the other person.

Emails and phone calls are great when they follow a structure and provide valuable information to the other person.

- Not Blaming Others:

Maybe a popular course, product, or service caught your attention.

You invested in it and it didn’t work.

It won’t make sense to assign blame to something if it has worked well for many others.

Determine first that you followed all the steps before you declare that it is “useless.”

If your investment isn’t a good fit for your personality or your business, review the refund policy carefully…

But again, don’t assign blame to external forces (such as the company from which you made the purchase).

In the end, it’s really not their fault if you did not take the necessary steps to make sure you would be ok if you changed your mind about buying the tools they offered. Take control of the matter and review your options carefully.

- Understanding money is made and lost online and offline:

Some of us might not succeed with our first online business, and that is okay.

Many wealthy entrepreneurs had to go through more than one opportunity before landing on the business that worked the best for them and brought them the results they desired.

That’s one of the great things about the network marketing industry.

You can start in a home business right away and the startup costs are almost always affordable.

This makes it easier for you to try out different things until you land on what feels the most natural and best matches your passions.

You can also run an offline business with just as much success as an Internet-based business.

Many people have started restaurants and boutiques with great success and despite any economic shifts, continue to do really well.

- Reading and Writing Copywriting:

At this point you may have already gone through several sales letters about amazing support systems, tools for Internet marketing, or even personal development, and a lot of these are offered by “gurus.”

As you read the sales page, you have the opportunity to determine something about the expert offering the product or service and know right away whether they are a good match for you.

Some questions to consider are,

“Does this person speak to my passions?”

“Do I fully understand and relate to his/her message?”

“Is this a service/tool/course that speaks to the needs of my business?”

Not surprisingly, many people are quick to purchase something without reading the sales letter carefully.

They don’t take a moment to know the refund policy and when they do receive the course, they find that can’t make any use of it and become upset. This channels you back to the issue of not blaming others.

We all have a great level of responsibility for the investments we make, whether it’s a home business opportunity or tools for personal and/or business development.

Those entrepreneurs who refuse to take responsibility for these choices will continue to repeat a cycle of failure that will undoubtedly be hurtful to many of their business endeavors.

Bottom Line?

We are all human beings, and as such we are prone to being flawed.

This is not a bad thing at all, but the solution is to become aware of those flaws and become better people when we know our weak points.

The better you know your strengths, the more likely you are to select the gurus, tools, courses that best fit your personality type.

And the more aware you are of the differences in personality types, the better you will select the people who will join your business organization and cause it to thrive.

The bottomline is that taking personal responsibility frees you from holding emotional baggages against other people or “things” and gives you back the control you need to move forward in business.

If you haven’t already realized this, try it some time.

My guess is you’ll be happier and making more money at the same time Cool

Dream ENORMOUS, my friend…
Jerry Chen

I put this in my blog because we all need to remember these things as we build a business(and it doesn’t matter if it is a conventional brick building business, online business or an offline business). We all have a right to work with people we get along with. When you own a conventional business you hire the best qualified candidate that you feel would help out your business, now you would not choose that person if the interview went badly. Or if you hire someone you have the choice to fire them if they don’t get the job done. We as nonconventional business owners need to be more choosey in who we work with~ we may not be able to fire someone so we need to be mindful of our first impressions and choose who we want, just as they can choose who they want to work with.
As for personal integrity that goes without saying~ if you are not responsible you may not be cut out for owning a business. You can learn to be more responsible and organized if you truly want to, but you have to have the want to:)

GOD BLESS

Searching for Work from Home?

Okay, I work from home and am always getting questions about what I do, is it legit, etc, etc. First I want to say what I do is not a job, but a business and I love what I do. I believe that there is something out there for everyone and this blog is not about what I do(although I will address that), but more about what you should be looking for when you are searching for work from home.

1. Are you looking for a true job? Meaning you work for a company from home and will get paid day in and day out. If so, quit looking on the internet and start getting out on the street, not trying to be rude, but telling the truth. I have spoken to several people who do work from home, but they have done it for years and many started out working in the company and slowly moved home. Now there are things like Medical Transcriptionist that will allow you to work from home, but you may be pulled into the office from time to time and may have to buy your own software. Plus if you are looking online for a true job you are going to run into more scams…

2. Know what you are looking for(or at least what you are not wanting)… I knew that I did not want to have parties, take orders, or do anything of that nature. Not that those things are bad~I live out in the middle of no where and it is did not fit me.

3. Watch out for “red flag” wording… if you look at a website and it is all hype, be careful. If it says it is free and then down at the bottom it says sorry we have to charge you- RUN!!! If there is not a person you can call~ why isn’t there? If you get asked for money before knowing what you are doing… bad sign.
Truth~ any business whether at home or outside of the home costs money. Just know what you want and how much you are willing to invest.

4. What types of products will you be involved with? Every business has a product or a service… Is it something that is a great product, but people may only buy once every few months… Is it something you, yourself use? I would never ask someone to support something I wouldn’t use.

5. Is there training? What kind? Is it free? Will there be people to support you? Many of the things I have seen have a charge for training(why~ because it is big money… you want to do well so you get a book here and a CD there). Are you required to go to the out-of-town training?

6. Talking about support… this is also something you must ask yourself. If you can’t get in touch with your mentor is there someone else there? Does the company offer a support team?

There are more, but that covers the basics so you can search more confidently…

I would like to tell you more about what I found to work for me.

1.What type of company is this?
We have partnered with a wellness company that is environmentally friendly they have~ Nutritional, Personal Care, Home Cleaning, Pharmaceutical, Skin Care & Cosmetics~ these are safer alternatives than what is in our own cabinets:) All we do is open up wholesale accounts

2. Are there start-up costs? If so, how much?
$29 and it is fully refundable within the first few months.
3. How many products does this company offer? Over 350 products and growing…

4. Will I be selling products? No!
Will I have to meet a sales quota? If so, how much? No!
Will there be home parties involved? No!
Will I distribute or inventory products? No!
Does this company accept credit cards? Yes – also checking/savings(and it will not cost anything as we aren’t the ones collecting the money)

5. Is there training available? Is it free?
One-on-one mentoring and full training with an awesome team built of men and women of all ages – we believe that Team Work makes the Dream Work! Yes, it is FREE:)
Is there support available?
Full support FREE:) I never would have been able to do this on my own!! The company also has things available most are free and some is paid.

6. Is this a new or established company? Established~ they have been in business for 26 years

This company is amazing. The growth that it has seen every year since opening is phenomenal. Awards and credentials are very impressive. It was built and still stands on solid principles and INTEGRITY!!

Now there is a balance between money invested in a business and time invested in order to make the business work. If you spend the minimum on your business you will have to invest more time to make it successful. No legitimate business will replace a JOB income right away. Home business are for Entrepreneurs who are willing to invest in there future not get rich!

Hope this helps everyone:)
GOD BLESS

Truth… what we put on our bodies!!!

I know I have written about formaldehyde before, but I want to go more in detail about what we maybe doing by using it everyday!
But, I don’t use it everyday~ you would say… In fact I don’t use it at all. I would hope not, but the sad fact is… that you do. What types of products contain formaldehyde as a common ingredient. Shampoo, baby shampoo, bubble bath, deodorants, perfume, cologne, hair dye, mouth wash, tooth paste, hair spray, plus many many more personal care items.
According to Home Safe Home by Debra Lynn Dadd manufacturers don’t list it as an ingredient. And by my own research if they do it is with a trade name(well I know I would not buy something with formaldehyde listed as an ingredient on the bottle and honestly would anyone else!!!).
Now(to be fair) most products that contain formaledehyde do it in a very small amount, but lets look at what the MSDS states *suspected carcinogen:may be fatal if inhaled, swallowed, or absorbed through skin, causes burns, inhalation can cause spasms, edema(which is fluid build up) of the larynx and bronchi and chemical pneumonitis extremely destructive to tissue of the mucous membrane.
WOW!! I knew it was dangerous, but Yuck~ now to answer the question about cancer, all cancer’s come from 1 cell that has mutated… just one that is all that it takes. One abnormal cell growth, not to say that all cells that grow abnormally turn into cancer(there is malignant and benign~ but that is how cancer starts). Why risk it??
Now the MSDS said formaldehyde can be absorbed so let’s look at that aspect. How easily could that happen. How many cells are contained on our skin(which is our largest organ). According to Nancy S. Green’s Poisoning Our Children just on square centimeter of skin( to put this in perspective it is an area less than the size of a dime) contains 3 million cells, 4 yards of nerves, one yard of blood vessels and one hundred sweat glands. Amazing isn’t it. I know most of us have heard of medicine in patches. Why patches~ less medicine needed, greater absorption rate, and quicker release into the blood stream than a pill. As you could guess by the number of blood vessels it does go right into the blood stream and into the brain… So therefore we can deduct that anything we touch can be absorbed. So all those soaps, shampoos, toothpastes and other products that you use everyday are slowly exposing you to chemicals we were never meant to be exposed to…
This is why I am glad I got rid of the toxic chemicals in my home… from my personal care products and more. The best part… I get to spread the word and help others:)

GOD BLESS

Reach for your Goals.

One of my business partners and I were talking about Dave Ramsey the other night and how she was going to blog on his book that she was reading. Then this morning I got this from my pastor. It said “from Dave Ramsey” I thought~ hum wonder what it could be about. I opened it and WOW it is about goal setting. Remember we are entering the last 90 days of the year… What do you want to do with it??

Four Ways to Help You Reach Your Goals~ Dave Ramsey
People make a common mistake when they are setting goals for the New Year.
They pledge to do something and then subconsciously think they have to tackle the next 12 months right now. If the goal is to read 10 books, many people focus on just “10 books.” They don’t hear “this year.” They’ll get too overwhelmed and quit.
It may seem a little early to bring this up since the start of the New Year is three months away. But just like pro football teams gear up for the regular season with preseason games, we have to get ready for 2012 goal-setting with some advance planning. Now is the time to not only finish what you started in 2011, but also get ready for new and better things next year.
If you apply these quick tips when setting a goal for yourself, you’ll find progress—and success—will start finding its way to you.
Do Little Before Big
When going after something, start small. If it’s Sunday, set yourself a minor goal to accomplish by Saturday. Make it something that you have to work on every day of that week. Teach yourself about sustained effort and how to make steady progress. Then expand from there.
Change Your Thinking
You’ve heard this one before, and it may sound cliché. But if you stop and think about it, this behavior can really be the key to achieving big stuff.
When it comes to accomplishing an objective, you want to learn how to be in it for the long haul. Today, most of us want immediate results. Heck, if the internet connection is slow, we’re about ready to pull our hair out! We need to learn to go into a task with the frame of mind that it will be an experience, not just something to get through.
Enjoy the process. Have a marathon mentality, not a sprinter one. Doing so will keep you patient and more likely to stick to the task at hand.
Have an Accountability Partner
With married couples, it’s your spouse. With singles, it’s someone you trust who will hold you accountable for your actions. You don’t want a person who is a wimp and will agree with everything you do. The ideal partner will get in your face to stop a behavior if they see you slacking off on your goal. And if you are smart, you’ll listen. Read more.
Make Productive Habits Routine
Picture putting on your seat belt when you get in the car. If you become accustomed to wearing a seat belt, when you drive without it, you feel awkward—almost naked. Only after you buckle up do you feel like you’ve taken the proper steps to prepare yourself. That’s the feeling you want from the habits you form to reach your goals.
You want a behavior to be so ingrained in your psyche that not doing it makes you feel like something’s missing. When starting a new goal, wrap your mind around what it will take to accomplish it. If you want to get a washboard stomach, then incorporate sit-ups into your everyday routine. Make it so your day feels incomplete without sit-ups. Having that splinter in your mind will make you want to work on your goal.
All of these are tips, but they are not the most important factor. What is, you may ask? Simple—it’s you. When you commit yourself to reaching a goal, you’ll get there. So get to reaching!

I hope this gets you to thinking about what you can do this year, but to start planning for next. Small turns to large:) Stick with a small goal daily(weekly, or monthly) so you don’t overwhelm yourself. That is what I do:)

GOD BLESS

What is your Weather Report??

I am constantly reminded how my attitude makes or breaks my day. It doesn’t matter what is going on~ it really could be worse, I can stand, walk and more:) GOD has given me more than I deserve so when I ran across this poem it reminded me of that and I wanted to share… What is your weather report?

A poem by BJ Gallagher
“Any day I’m vertical
is a good day”
…that’s what I always say.
And I give thanks for my health.

If you ask me,
“How are you?”

I’ll answer, “GREAT!”
because in saying so,
I make it so.
And I give thanks
I can choose my attitude.

When Life gives me dark clouds and rain,
I appreciate the moisture
that brings a soft curl to my hair.

When Life gives me sunshine,
I gratefully turn my face up
to feel its warmth on my cheeks.

When Life brings fog,
I hug my sweater around me
and give thanks for the cool shroud of mystery
that makes the familiar seem different and intriguing.

When Life brings snow,
I dash outside to catch the first flakes on my tongue,
relishing the icy miracle that is a snowflake.

Life’s events and experiences
are like the weather—
they come and go,
no matter what my preference.

So, what the heck?!
I might as well decide to enjoy them.

For indeed,
there IS a time for every purpose
under Heaven.

And each season brings its own unique blessings…
and I give thanks.

Now may your days be brighter because YOU decide them to be. Praise GOD for what you have and don’t dwell on things that you don’t.

GOD BLESS:)

Leadership- Important words

I got this in an e-mail and I thought I would share…

I thought I would change it to fit my business as I do have an office, but no one uses my doors:)

A “Crash Course” on LEADERSHIP~Steve Ventura

The 10 most important words:
“What can I do to help you be more successful?”

The 9 most important words:
“I need you to do this, and here’s why…”

The 8 most important words:
“That’s my mistake and I will fix it.”

The 7 most important words:
“My phone(changed from door) is always open to you.”

The 6 most important words:
“Let’s focus on solving the problem.”

The 5 most important words:
“You did a great job!”

The 4 most important words:
“What do YOU think?”

The 3 most important words:
“Follow my lead.”

The 2 most important words:
“Thank You.”

The MOST important word:
“YOU”

Why are these words important? Notice that the other person is always more important. Because there is no I in team!!! Everyone wants the solution for themselves. You are there to help them achieve success. When you take yourself out of the picture and start helping others is when you will become more successful. Helping others is always more rewarding than helping yourself. Giving is more rewarding than receiving!!! End of story.

GOD BLESS
Brandy
